A working wardrobe for a Thane summer is smaller than most people expect, provided the pieces mix.

Start with three tops

A straight cotton kurti, a printed short kurti and a plain tunic. All three work over leggings, palazzos or jeans, which is where the mixing happens.

Two bottoms that go with everything

Plain cotton salwar pants and one palazzo. Solid colours first — printed bottoms limit which top can go with them.

One complete set

A kurta, pant and dupatta set covers every occasion where an outfit has to look considered without being formal.

What to skip early

Heavy occasion wear until there is an occasion, and anything dry-clean-only that you will wear twice a year. Both sit in the cupboard while cotton does the work.

Care is part of the choice

A piece you can wash at home gets worn; a piece that needs dry cleaning does not. Wash care is on every product page for that reason.
